Prof. Dr. Rudolf Roka is a specialist in general and vascular surgery. After studying at the University of Vienna. Surgical and scientific training at the University Surgical Clinic Vienna, in Washington at the NIH and at the Toranomon Hospital in Tokyo. Main focus on endocrine and oesophageal surgery. He was head of the Department of Surgery at the Kaiserin Elisabeth Spital and the KA Rudolfstiftung, currently head of thyroid surgery at the KH Göttlicher Heiland. Member of national and international societies and founder of the Chirurg. Endocrinology Working Group Austria. Active in clinical research and teaching. 2002-2012 Secretary General and 2011 President of the Austrian Society of Surgery, 2008 Grand Decoration of Honour for Merit Republic of Austria.
